Saugandh - First film of Akshay Kumar
One of the very first martial art kinds of action films in the industry is Akshay Kumar first movie known as Saugandh. This was what made Ashkay Kumay, whose real name is Rajiv Hari Om Bhatia, one of the most famous action artists in India. Famous for being known as the Indian Jackie Chan, he is a renowned martial artist turned actor and producer.
There were a lot of other movies in different genres which he casted on. In totality, the sum of all his box office collection equates to 340 million dollars which is considered to be the only Indian actor to have movies that earn that much.

He appeared in over 125 films but he became famous for his series of action films in the 90s called Khiladi series. The series was made up with 8 movies which are Khiladi in 1992, Main Khiladi Tu Anari in 1994, Sabse Bada Khiladi in 1995, Khiladiyon Ka Khiladi in 1996, Mr. and Mrs. Khiladi in 1997, International Khiladi in 1999, Khiladi 420 in 2000 and Khiladi 786 in 2012. Everything though started with Akshay Kumar first movie, Saugandh.
Directed by Raj Sippy, Saugandh, which is Akshay Kumar first movie, is a film about love, family and revenge. The story started with Chowdhry Sarang, played by Mukesh Khanna, killing his sister’s lover and his family because of his disapproval of their love. After the debacle, Ganga, who was the sister-in-law of the man he killed and was pregnant by then, played by the actress Rakhi Gulzar, made an oath to make Sarang bow when the time comes that her son will marry his daughter? After a few years, it did happen. Akshay Kumar played as Shiva who is Ganga's son. In the film, Shiva fell in love with Chand, Sarang’s daughter and after many obstacles married each other. Akshay Kumar first movie ended with Sarang shooting himself because he didn’t want to bow down to Ganga.
Despite starting early in his career, Akshay Kumar was able to win two Filmfare awards. And though he was in hiatus from years 2009 to 2011, he received the Honorary Doctorate of Law for his contributions to the Indian film industry. The next year, he has been awarded by the government with Padma Shri and in 2011; he had been honored by The Asian Awards for outstanding achievement in Cinema.
