So at last we Indian got the moment of having first ever gold medal. But I am really surprised that India is the second largest populated country and we never produce any gold medalist or may be over population is the main reason or may be politics or may be over hype sport "Cricket" as well ...
But however this is the moment of cherish and lets cross our finger for few more gold medals ... have a look those magical moments ...

Abhinav Bindra a Libran (28th September, 1982) from Punjab. First ever Indian who won the Gold Medal for the country. This Gold medal is also important as India won it after long 28 years. In 1980 India won the gold medal in the man’s hockey at Moscow Olympic.
MBA (Master in Business Administration) degree holder and CEO of his Abhinav Futuristic (A computer game distributor company). Awards and recognition is not new for Abhinav Bindra he won Arjuna Award in 2001 and Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award in 2001 – 2002.
Abhinav was youngest Participant in 2000 Olympic Games. He also won the Gold Medal in 2002 Commonwealth Games in Manchester.

Abhinav Bindra won the gold medal

Bindra finished with 700.5 points, edging out Zhu who had 699.7 points for the silver. Zhu won the gold medal in 2004. Hakkinen got the bronze with 699.4.
Zhu’s second place finish gives the Chinese three medals in the shooting competition after Guo Wenjun won the women’s 10-meter air pistol and Pang Wei took the men’s.
